Finding a unique Social Worker role | CASE STUDY

THE ISSUE

We had a Social Worker come to us looking for a role that would utilise her unique skillset, while also accommodating her lifestyle needs.

DIGGING DEEPER

This Social Worker had previously worked for the government in human services and child welfare. Her work environment was very hectic, yet also highly regulated, and did not suit her situation as a young mother, so she wanted to try something different.

THE MJ SOLUTION

We organised an interview with a potential employer that had a long lead time on hiring for the role. We worked with this Social Worker candidate for over 6-8 months to get her this role, keeping in close contact the whole time.

THE RESULT

It took time, but this Social Worker now works in a role that offers much more flexibility, and even some work from home hours.

In her new role, she supports people who have been through catastrophic life events. She advocates for these people and connects them to services that are aligned to them, which is deeply satisfying for a Social Worker.

It’s an unusual job, suited to someone with a very specific skillset, and it’s just perfect for her.

THE LESSON

Very unique positions do exist, but sometimes they take time to come to fruition. If you’re a jobseeker doing it alone, 8 months could be an exhausting amount of time to wait for a new role. However, when you have a team of recruiters like Medijobs Australia behind you, you can feel relaxed and supported, knowing we do a lot of the hard work for you.

If you’re looking for a role to fit your needs, as unique as they may be, contact us. We’ll work with you for as long as it takes.
